WIRA

WIRA, a sustainable footwear brand deeply rooted in ancestral Andean culture and responsible craftsmanship. ARTKA led the design process, translating WIRA’s cultural heritage and sustainable values into a contemporary, refined aesthetic.

Rooted in the legacy of the Wari  Empire, the Sacred Geometry waterproof boots honor their mastery of unity, architecture, and symbolic art. The side panel features an embroidered motif stitched with TENCEL™ yarn over a woven baby alpaca base, inspired by the geometric patterns that defined Wari textiles.

The sneakers are made with natural fibers like alpaca and merino wool, sustainable/recycled/recyclable and high-quality materials like EVA, Recycled Polyamide/ Polyester, Recycled Cotton, Thermoplastic Polyurethane, and Lenzing Viscose. These materials reduce environmental impact by minimizing the need for virgin raw materials and lowering associated carbon emissions. WIRA shoes carbon footprint is among the lowest in the global market, between 2.0 and 4,5 Kg CO2eq/pair.

The designs are inspired by the ancestral cultures of Wari, Paracas, Nazca, Mochica, and Chimu.

Our sneakers are built for durability, reducing the need for frequent replacements and, in turn, lowering resource consumption. They’re easy to maintain, ensuring long-lasting quality and a reduced environmental impact over time.
